In the Latin Church the pipe organ is to be held in high esteem, for it is the traditional musical instrument which adds a wonderful splendor to the Church's ceremonies and powerfully lifts up man's mind to God and to higher things. From the Vatican II document Sacrosanctum Concilium #120.

St. Elizabeth of Hungary and St. Jules are located on Bayou Lafourche about halfway between Baton Rouge and New Orleans and are part of the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge. We are a Catholic community centered upon Jesus Christ and dedicated to helping people come to know Him. He is the center of our lives, so we humbly respond to him with love, worship and adoration. In the gift of the Holy Eucharist we recognize the real and abiding presence of God's love and mercy.

If you live in our area or if you have been away from the Sacraments, or if you are just curious about the Catholic faith, you are always welcome at St. Elizabeth and St. Jules. We are very blessed to have excellent staff and volunteers dedicated to proclaiming the truth about God and the world.
